Introducing Burlington Chiropractor Dr Karen Drummond

We can't be well if we focus on sickness.

I always wanted to be a doctor, but didn't understand why I would have to wait until people were sick before I could help them. Then I discovered chiropractic and a whole different kind of doctor. A family member began receiving chiropractic care while I was in college and forwarded me information on chiropractic. I began chiropractic care to see for myself what it was all about. After being adjusted, I realized that achy feeling in my low back during basketball practice wasn't normal. That was when I decided to become a chiropractor.

I began my pre-chiropractic education at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, I then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. I chose Palmer because I didn't want to go to just any chiropractic college; I wanted to go where it all began. After graduating from Palmer, I worked as an Associate Chiropractor in a chiropractic office in Massachusetts. After getting tired of New England winters, I relocated with my family to Burlington to open my own practice.

At Drummond Chiropractic, I treat not only the whole body but the whole family as well. I've treated patients ranging in age from 9 days old to 93 years old. It's fun to hear kids ask for their "turn on the table" when I finish treating Mom or Dad. The kids watch what we do and follow the example we set. It's also rewarding to see the kids take on the same healthy habits the parents take on in their efforts toward better health, giving the kids a chance to grow into healthy adults. After all, it's much easier to maintain good health than to restore it once we lose it.

I'm married to Jeff, my college sweetheart, and we have two kids, Taylor and Dillon (four kids, if you count the dogs, Suzie and Otis). I enjoy spending time with my family and I've set up Drummond Chiropractic in my home so I can spend more time with them. I also enjoy working out at the YMCA, watching the kids in their activities, and watching or listening to sports (especially the Boston Red Sox). I'm a member of the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the North Carolina Chiropractic Association (NCCA), and still maintain my license to practice in Massachusetts.

I receive regular chiropractic care myself in order to maintain my health and well being. The kids have received regular chiropractic care since birth and my husband also receives regular care.

Good health is a journey of ups and downs, twists and turns as we deal with whatever life throws at us. Contact us now and begin your journey today.

Dr Karen Asks some important questions of interest to Burlington residents - Chiropractor Burlington Dr Karen Asks...

What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
What happens if you stop chiropractic care when you feel better?
Many Burlington folks recognize that this predisposes you to a relapse. Chiropractors know that muscles and ligaments supporting the spine don't fully heal until after symptoms subside.
